AT&T

Template Design & Training Material

PROBLEM:

I discovered the design team spending a large portion of time doing redundant work.

SOLUTION:

I undertook an initiative to create a more efficient and faster workflow process. With the help of my co-worker Bryan Norton we found the common denominators which allowed us into narrow down 5 separate templates to two, and set up the standards for the additional elements, such as 2, 3, & 4-up promo cards and tiles for the different breakpoints on artboards with automated scripts to generate the many asset sizes needed for comps and final production. Working hand in hand with the development team, we were able to communicate new functionality enhancements that were successfully integrated.

We also created the training material and taught training sessions to the many designers throughout the many AT&T design teams on how to utilize the new templates.

In applying the new process, design time dramatically dropped and the number of error kickbacks were reduced almost to zero.

Note: AT&T at the time did not have access to Sketch, so we improvised to make it work with the tools we had on hand.
